NVL Season has finished...
The National League season is now over for all of the Guildford Teams.
The Mens Division 1 team have found it hard playing against some strong teams and will be relegated after only registering 1 win. The Mens 2 team fared slightly better winning 7 of their 16 matches and finishing 6th in Division 3 west.
The Womens team playing in Division 2 have gained the most wins of all the teams this season and were only 2 wins away from a playoff place.
Due to a number of player retirements all the teams are now looking for players to join them in next seasons campaigns. If you are interested in playing National League volleyball with Guildford next season please get in touch using the contact link at the top of the page.

GIVC AGM Date confirmed
Please make a note in your diary that the Clubs annual general meeting is being held at 16:30 on Sunday 18th May at the Spectrum. It will be in one of the "ICE Boxes" (the viewing boxes overlooking the ice rink).
For those who have not been before this is a meeting where all the members of the club can discuss the plans for the year ahead and elect the members who will take responsibility for ensuring the club continues to operate.
If you have any proposals for discussion or would like to put yourself forward for a committee position then please let Darren Heath know.
See you on the 18th!

Training Sessions April & May...
Guildford Spectrum have advised us of the following changes to our Sunday training sessions in the coming weeks :-
Sunday 20th April - Ash Manor
Sunday 11th May - Ash Manor
Sunday 25th May - Ash Manor
All other sessions will take place as normal at Guildford Spectrum, open sessions on Sunday 7-9pm

Cup Quater Final - Saturday 2nd Feb...
Guildford Women have their first ever Cup Quater Final appearance against Division 1 side Polonia from west London on Saturday afternoon.
The match will be held at Guildford Spectrum with a 4pm warm-up & first serve at 4:30pm.
There is no admission charge for the match & supporters will be very welcome to come along & get behind the team.

Men's Division 1 Update ...
The Men's 1st team are playing for the 1st time in Division 1 this season of the NVL. The team has played 5 and only managed to win one match so far.
This Sunday they will be hoping to make it two when they travel to take on Warwick. However, the following Saturday they will be taking on Polonia Ealing at home so if you are interested in coming down and supporting then you will be more than welcome.

NVL Season So Far ...
The NVL season has begun and already all three of our teams have seen action.
For the first time ever we have a team in the 1st Division of the NVL. After two good displays the Men's 1st team have put in two excellent performances but sadly have not won a game. They will be looking to gain their first victory this Sunday when they travel to London Lynx.
The women managed a fine win in their opening game against Tuskers and the Men's Division 3 team had mixed fortunes when they lost their opening game to Bristol 2 but then went on to thrash Bristol 3.

National League Starts This Weekend ...
On Saturday the Men create a little bit of Guildford history when they take on Cambridge at the ACS in the club's first ever Division 1 match. It's fitting that in our 20th Anniversary year we have managed to get a team playing at the highest level in this country.
On Sunday the Women take on Dulwich Tuskers at the ACS. The women narrowly missing out on promotion last season to Division 1 when they lost to Leeds in the Promotion Play-Off final.
Both matches have a 1:30pm warm-up with the match starting at 2pm, spectators are welcome at both matches but you will need to contact us for a free pass to gain access to the campus.

Guildford Women Lose Play-Off Final ...
Guildford International's team in the Women's NVL Division 2 fell at the final hurdle yesterday when they went down 1-3 in the play-off final against Leeds at the University of Leeds.
It was a depleted Guildford squad which made the long trip up the M1 to take on a Leeds side which won 3 more games than they did in the regular season.
Astonishingly Guildford managed to go 16-0 up in the 3rd set and although were ahead in the 4th they could not sustain enough pressure on the home side.

Guildford Make The First Division ...
At the 3rd time of asking Guildford International finally won a Promotion Play-Off thus ensuring that the Men's NVL team will be playing Volleyball in the Country's top division next season.
They managed to beat Sheffield Hallam (3-1) at the ACS last Sunday.

Last Weekend ...
It was a bit of thrilling weekend for Guildford NVL Volleyball as Division 2 Men came from being 0-2 down to beat Wessex 3-2 on Saturday.
Then the Women on Sunday came from behind to beat Devon 3-2 on Sunday.
Unfortunately the Men's Division 3 team lost to Bridgend and Reading University on Sunday.
